because Sophie pretty much just had her last birthday blowout. Next year she can have a couple of friends sleep over, but the ginormous hoopla has seen its last year.
What can I say? The girl is popular. She's the only granddaughter in town, and most of our family lives here. She goes to two schools. She know a shit load of people.
The party was at the park, in a reserved pavilion (reserved people. That means back the fuck off when I'm packing up with, in all reality, 2 house left on my reservation and you want to use the pavilion which you did NOT reserve for your little family function.) We ended up with 16 kids (18 if you count the two crashers) and about as many adults.
The bounce house was fun, and no one needed stitches. (There were two serious head bonks and 1 kid stepped on a bee.)
Katy's cupcake rainbow was oohed and aahed over, and Sophie particularly loved it, (although for some reason she decided to have all of the kids at the party blow out her candles for her and make their own wishes.)

Liv's was of roughly the same size, and will as well be the last blowout. Same deals, too - two schools, family in town, my friends kids she can't really choose whether she wants to like.
Next year, small and cool.

Happy Birthday Soph. And Happy Birthday to the other two Leo's in the house.

Yeah, that cupcake rainbow is really cool.
I'm a bad mom. I don't do birthdays well, at all. I do compensate with really cool gifts.
Happy Birthday Soph.
(And watch out for the 6 year old attitude increase.)

That looks so fun. And I NEED one of those cupcakes. Blowouts are stressful but ARE necessary every once in awhile.

Soph is DARLING! The cupcake rainbow is FANTASTIC! And you deserve a medal for BEST MOTHER IN THE WORLD! I hope you were able to nap afterwards.

katy is fantastic. great job with the cake, as always. the colors are so vibrant! and sophie letting everyone make their own wish is just adorable. she's a good kid, that one.
I hate crashers at the park. they make you have to act like a pavilion nazi.
